Volvo 1800 screensaver
Here's a little something I made for my own enjoyment, but I figured there might be a few others who would enjoy it, too: It's a 3D screensaver featuring our favorite car, the Volvo 1800.
The 3-D model was created by Josh Isaacson of Mountain View, CA, and will soon appear in a game produced by Turdhead.com. For now, though, I thought I'd show it off via screensaver.
Click here to download the screensaver, and feel free to let me know what you think of it. Thanks!
Update: A few people have asked for a standalone version of the display (one they could "click and play" any time). Thus, I've made this standalone desktop application available, too. Hope you enjoy!
Update 2: We now have a Mac OSX version available too. Click here to download a zipped package containing the Mac version. To install, simply unzip and place the resulting Classic1800Saver.saver file in your /Library folder (or double click to install it automatically). You will then find the screensaver appears as an option when choosing screensavers in System Settings.

Nice graphics but the cars spin too fast- would be better if the were just driving left and right- can you slow the spinning down?
Thanks.

There’s a new version coming… soon… that will allow such options to be set, Paul. Stay tuned, and thanks for the comments!

[...] Of course, that doesn’t mean I’ve done anything earthshattering yet, but I’ve at least been playing around with its simple-to-use screensaver building tools. [...]

That is great!! Thanks for doing this, it is an excellent effect. My only addition would be to have a random ES wagon show up now and then!!

Great screesaver, but like Paul, I would also like to have an option to have a nice stationary shot of an 1800 that would take up most of the screen and would not spin. I know this screensaver was set up for a game, but it still looks good!

Love the screen saver! I’ve been wanting to build a paper model of an 1800 is there any possibility of sharing the 3d model. I also do architectural renderings and it would be cool to have an 1800 to put in them.

I am looking for a working clock to fit a 1967 1800s or a replacent clock that would fit a 2 3/8 ” hole with the same face.
