Thanks for the note, Dave. Although I was aware of Nisonger, for some reason I never think of them when it matters. Good info to have!

FYI, if you don't know them, http://www.nisonger.com will repair your Smith's Clock and any other vintage Smith's gauge in about 6-8 weeks. They do great work (using vintage and new replacement parts) and I recommend them... They also send it back with a year's guarantee.

Hi;
I own a 1970 P1800E. While it is in storage for the winter (I live in Canada), the local tech is supposed to check out my non-working Smith clock to see if it can be restored. If it turns out he cannot get it working, I may be in the market for a replacement. I should know by mid-April. Is your clock still available and, if so, how much are you asking for it? I may be interested.
Cheers,
Kenn

<strike>I have a Volvo P 1800 Smith clock for sale. My dad had it removed from his new Volvo in 1970 (I think that was the year) because he couldn't read the time without his glasses. It is complete with chrome case, black clock face and blue background with red dials.</strike>

Sadly, the clock fix wasn't as "perfect" as I thought. (Check <a href="/?p=80" rel="nofollow">this update</a> for details on why I haven't posted a followup yet.) I'm still seeking a good solution though!
