A call for submissions
We all have friends who are "into" various cars — whether it be Porsches, Chevies or Model T's — and inevitably, these people have walls covered in artwork inspired by their hearts' desires: pinups, posters, miniatures and… the most basic of automobile collectibles — the 12-month, "Car-o'-the-month" calendar.
So where's the Volvo 1800 calendar? Surely there are enough drivers and enthusiasts around to warrant the compilation and creation of such a thing. To correct this wrong, I'm volunteering the services of my artist, writer and designer friends to create an all new 2005 Volvo 1800 calendar. The only thing we're lacking is great images to grace the pages.
So here's the official call for entries: Send us your best pictures of your own 1800 (or your friends' 1800) in whatever state of grace it may be. We'd love to have some sharp Show-quality pieces, but daily drivers and the occasional "oh my gosh" junker could also add some spice to the calendar.
The main thing we're looking for is quality photography and something worth hanging on our walls. Electronically submitted images should therefore be at least 1280 x 1024 resolution (the higher, the better!). If there's enough interest, we'll choose from among the top entries and get the calendar out in time for the Christmas season.
To submit entries, please send photos to:
Classic1800.com
2305 Yancey Street
Raleigh, NC 27608
Or email electronic versions (PNG or JPG preferred) to submissions@classic1800.com. Images must be at least 1280 x 1024 resolution.
Upon selection, Classic1800.com will assume only one-time publication and promotional rights for the images, so you're welcome to do whatever else you'd like with them, too.
Keep those images coming! Thanks!
NOTE: Deadline for submissions is Nov. 5! See ...
for details!

You have struck upon a dam good idea. I have sent you a picture of my car out on the desert of Tucson. Have fun doing this project. Look forward to seeing the results.

Have an 8×10 from a 4×5 neg of my original ‘65 1800S. If you’d promise to send it back to me, I’d be willing to part with it for the project. It is mounted.
Regards,
Ernie

Anything sent would certainly be sent back in the same condition. To make sure, I’d appreciate if you insured the package when mailing it. US Postal will do this for a small fee, and I’d be sure to do the same when sending it back. I understand it’s hard to release a picture of your baby!
